Kid Friendly recipe

Taco Pizza

Heres something that is a family friendly, kid friendly recipe and everyone always wants more! You can serve it cold or hot, I know that sounds odd, but really you can . Takes about 30 min , and you can change up the ingredients to your liking. It really is a favorite by us!

I know how busy we are these days, and even more so with kids home due to the COVID-19 shutdowns around the globe. We will try to keep things fresh and share recipes that are Mom Friendly as well ! This is usually , always , a kid friendly recipe for taco pizza in our house!!!

Here is what you will need , feel free to play with the ingredient list!

Ingredients

  • 2 tubes (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent rolls
  • A package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup (8 oz) sour cream
  • 1 pound ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1–2 envelopes or 2–4 Tbsp taco seasoning, to taste
  • 1 medium tomato, chopped, diced if the kids are picky.
  • 2 cups shredded Mexican cheese ( I like Colby- Jack! )
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce or you can use cut up lettuce as well.
  • optional of course- avocado, taco sauce, hot sauce, black beans, corn

Directions

Preheated oven – 375 degrees.

Unroll the crescent roll dough and lay out on a large ungreased cookie sheet. Pinch the perforations together to seal. Bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes or until light golden brown. The kids can even help with this !

While the crescent rolls are baking, mix the softened cream cheese and sour cream together. Remove any lumps with a whisk or fork. Set aside.

Brown the ground beef and drain. Add a can of drained black beans, optional, its an added source of protien if you want. Add the taco seasoning and 1/4 cup of water. Simmer for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

When the crescent roll pizza crust is done baking, remove from the oven and set aside, let it cool for a few ( 3-5 ) minutes. Spread the sour cream & cream cheese mixture over the crescent rolls. Sprinkle the ground beef mixture evenly over the top, followed by lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and any other desired toppings.

Cut into serving-size pieces and serve immediately or keep in the refrigerator for cold taco pizza to be served later. We do try to keep it a kids friendly recipe, mostly. I always change up the way I cut it for the kids, sometimes its squares, sometimes strips and even triangles . We have also been known to make more than one kind, if the kids and adults like different toppings. You can really customize this how you want!

You can serve with side of chips and salsa and guac, or any other of your favorites! The kids can have milk, or choclate milk, and mom and dad and the “Big kids” can enjoy a glass of wine, you really cant go wrong.!!

ENJOY THIS , AND OTHER FAMILY FRIENDLY RECIPES ! DONT FORGET TO BOOKMARK THE PAGE AND COME BACK OFTEN TO SEE WHATS NEW!
