Clearly named in recognition of the fact that after your first bite you will not care that your face is covered and smeared with sauce!! Redneck Lipstick History
So Bobby the BBQ King shared with us recently the story behind Redneck Lipstick. He gives All credit to his father who created the recipe. But the ingredients were never revealed to anyone. You see3, Bobbys Dad just loved to barbeque and share the experience of gathering around the grill with family and friends. Clearly he enjoyed sharing his great skills, bbq-ing tips and techniques. His Dad Just would not share the secret recipe ingredients. Maybe thinking it would diminish his growing gatherings, if they could make the secret sauce themselves. Clever guy to keep bringin them back for more !!! And now , he brings us all back time and time again with this incredible creation !
As time passed even Bobby said had to return home to pick up some jars of sauce while in college. ( He and his buddies would go nuts for the best bbq sauce ! ) He persistently kept asking his father for the recipe with no luck . Many family members and friends had tried to get it out of him ! Finally a few years later his father relented and passed over the recipe. Of course Bobby was over the moon as he had become very passionate about his BBQ skills too. Bobby couldn’t have been more happy or more proud to FINALLY have this in his hands! ( We are too! )
BBQ Southern Roots
As a result of many southern states having a long lived tradition of bbqs the alias nickname “redneck” is one of respect. Because it does not matter what southern state claims to have the best barbeque, they are all right!! By using the hardwoods associated with their neck of the woods each has a flavor all their own. Makes each family’s tradition of BBQs truly unique and delicious ! Along with the time honored traditions of family recipes, favorite seasonings, smoking, grilling techniques, personally I ( #MommasFavoriteFinds) love them all. And I crave them all as well , though they may be BBQ in catagory- they have a personality and style all their own !
